Here a question for you guys. Several years ago a Operator type magazine came up with what they called a survival combo. The concept is a long gun and hand gun using the same round now they only concerned them selves with defense combo. I have though about this a bit and add the ability to get game up to lets say deer and boar. What firearms would you choose and what round? For me at this moment I would go with a 44 mag hand gun and rifle. Not sure of the make.

Let me add this the reason for the same round is that if one firearm should fail or become inoperable the other could use it ammo and assume its roll.

I'd agree with a .44 as well. Ruger sells an M77 in both .44 and .357.
Sorry I haven't been on here in a bit. In the middle of finishing the move from Buffalo to Winchester.
