I have only had the need for a NoVa gunsmith once or twice, and both time it was a really quick fix (Plunger Tube on a 1911) and a broken pin on a 92FS, but times I went to hatfields and they were able to do it in 5min while i waited, but there general turn around time is around a month or so now, and I am in need to get my Powder River Precision Ultimate Trigger installed on my new 5.25" XDM i just picked up, but dont want to loose it for the estimated month wait at Hatfields. Those guys do fantastic work, but sadly there backlog is there biggest problem, any of you guys have any other smiths, or quality people that can install the trigger kit?

I wish I knew. I stopped in Frederick County Firearms a few weeks ago to see if they could thread my barrel, but they don't do it. They gave me the name of some guy who does, but I didn't write it down. Maybe Chris will know?
There's two other shops down the street from me. I'll stop by this week and ask them.

I will have to ask around. I do most of my own stuff but I haven't needed anything major.

I got a couple good leads on places i had forgotten about. There is a new shop in Front Royal, called Black Bear Armory, i stopped in there a few months back, dude seemed nice, big shop in the back, small selection of guns up front, prices seem very reasonable. Another place, for those that dont know them, is W.A.R. Rifles in Manassas. They do complete LOng-Range rifles. They are on Par with GA Precision rifles if you have heard of them. They do some great work, and also have a full line of Gunsmithing business. I dropped emails to both of them, and hopefully will hear something back, but getting a good list of Gunsmiths together would be a good idea for future readers. I will report back on this once I hear back. For those interested, there is even an install video for this, it really doesnt seem all that diffacult, i just really dont want to mess up my new $700 gun, nor the $145 kit. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXEZfQwZhsY&feature=player_embeddedThat is part 1 of a 2 part video.

Triggers aren't usually very difficult. I have done a few in rifles.

Update, i heard back from Black Bear Armory.. 2 week wait, and about $65 in labor. This is about what i was hoping to hear. Still waiting on WAR Rifle.
The video doesnt make it look that hard, but I dont have any of the files, nor the special punches, and really i care to much about this gun right now to want to mess it up. If it was my old 92FS, sure i would probably do it myself, but dont want to mess with it when I can pay around $60 for a pro

So i picked up my new 5.25" XDM from Black Bear Armory, he had it for 2 weeks and 1 day, it was supposed to be done last saturday, but because of the new sear needing to be milled, it took a little longer. Total cost was $90 to install (cost me an extra $22 just for the additional sear work), but dear god did the Power River Precision make a world of difference in my XDM. The kit isnt cheap at $145 (they make a kit without the sear for $100), but it went from a trigger pull of 0.75" and 6.5lbs to 1/3" pull of 3.5lbs, its crisp short and clean. Matt did a very good job on his work, backs it up with a lifetime warranty, and he will get more work for me in the future if its ever needed. Here are 2 videos that show the diffrence in the triggers and its 100% real www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz-T1r3uPqowww.youtube.com/watch?v=lZOlyN129lY&feature=related
